Design Goals
The design goals for this project were to create the brand identity, logo and responsive website for the Misfits RC Drag Racing Club in Quakertown, Pa. To start, I had my client participate in a word association exercise, describing his club and it’s mission, so we could figure out the heart of the club’s brand identity. Some of the words he chose were:
“good clean fun”
“old fashioned values”
“vintage, yet modern”
My client provided his colors and images, and we worked together to find typography he thought best represented his club. From there, I created a logo, wireframes, and a sitemap. My client requested copywriting services, so I also provided copy for the website.

Translating my designs from Figma to HTML & CSS
When my client was happy with the Figma designs, I started translating those designs to code. I linked the font families, listed the Hex #'s for all of the colors and decided on my layout, which was a combination of CSS grid for the structure and CSS Flexbox for the internal layout of the site. I transferred images to imbgg.com to make sure they were visible, then got to work on writing the actual code to make my client's website become a reality. I was especially excited to try the parallax scroll with this site. It was a challenge, but it now works well on the fully responsive website.
